Geary Happenings :)

Well hello there! Whew... there has been a lot of things that have been going on over the last couple of weeks! With school and work, both Oli and I have been very busy! However, it's feels great to be moving ahead in our majors and we are really getting closer to being done! Ah... seeing it put down in words is very nice :) Overall we are very blessed to have such a great opportunity to be going to school and work- it's such a fun time in our lives! I am excited to say that I got accepted into the Elementary Education program! It's been a hard process, however I am proud to say that I am in a program that is the top 2% in the Nation. It makes me feel that all of the hard work and tears spent over getting into such a program was all worth it! Also, Oli's 5-K that he had put on for the Pediatric Center was a great success! It was very well run (I am of course biased :) and there was a lot of support from the community, friends, and family! (There was about 60 people who came! It was great being that it was so early and that it was chilly outside!) I am very proud of him and all the hard work he put into this project. (p.s. my mom rocked that race... she did very well. I absolutely loved running with my family from both sides and the trail was sooo beautiful!)

Below are pictures of Oli and I in the TSC on campus advertising for the 5-K run. It was fun to see the mixed emotions of those who really wanted to run, and other's who were disgusted at the idea of paying to run :) It was a great time for Oli and I to meet a lot of people!

Then that night we had date night. We cooked fried halibut, fettucini alfredo, and Oli was craving pizza... so we added pizza to our menu :) It's such a fun thing to do as a couple; we truly love cooking together. We try to make it a daily thing!
mmm... Oh how I love pizza. Especially homemade.

This may not look too appetizing to some people, having pizza and fish together. However it really was good, I promise :)

Then we made a fort and read scary Halloween stories inside. Ha ha Making forts has been something we have been doing since we first dated. I was reminded of such a fun idea from my good friend Angie's blog. Oli and I will always be kids at heart, no matter how old we are. :)

Then sometime during the the last couple of weeks we played tennis. This is a sport that we have wanted to pick-up and try and we really liked it! It's too bad that it's so cold outside to play anymore, however, we have a back-up... indoor raquetball. We'll see how that goes :)

Heres' some pictures of us just goofing off. Trust me... we weren't this serious about the game :)

Here is one of the delicious dishes Oli surprised me with when getting home from work late at night. It was Salmon, potatoes, broccoli, a fried egg, and his signature cream that we used to dip the salmon in. It was delicious!

Here's another time where we cooked a yummy meal and took a picture of it this past week! Oh and I also made rolls on Friday- and they turned out pretty good, which made me feel pretty awesome :) (Sorry for all the food pictures... it's a real big hobby
of ours- so there are going to be pictures :)

Then we decorated our apartment for Halloween! This is Oli... well being Oli :) I love that man, cobwebs and all!

The night before the 5-K race my Mother, Sofia, and Daniel came up to stay the night. We had a good meal, swam in the hotel, went shopping for Halloween stuff at Wal-mart, stayed up late watching "How to Train your Dragon" and ate way too many snacks. We had an absolute blast. Then the next day after the race we had Doug and Louette over and we had a great time talking and eating at Tandoori Oven. Oh it was awesome! I really love our families- they are the best!

Here is Oli swimming. This is the only pic I got of the night.

The next pictures are from last Sunday where we went to First Dam after church and just relaxed, fed the ducks, cuddled up in sleeping bags and slept. It was a much needed break after the busyness of school and work.

Then last night Oli and I hit up the annual "Pumpkin Walk". This is our third time going- and every year we always have a blast! I laughed so hard that my cheeks were literally hurting by the end of the night . It was a wonderful family home evening activity :)

Oli and his Russian hat ha ha
We were really excited... can you tell :)
I had to put this picture up. He does so many different faces when we take pictures together. I never know it until we look back at the pictures. I usually end up not putting them on the blog.. ha ha but this one I couldn't help it :)
The theme of the "Pumpkin Walk" was Looney. I loved the theme this year! It really is incredible the time and talent that goes into these things!

Here is the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs scene
The Flintstones...Aniston is going to be Pebbles for Halloween! She will be soo cute with her red hair and all :)

Sponge Bob
Madagascar- This was one of the best ones! It was so amazing!
The hilarious penguins off of Madagascar

This is Oli's favorite dragon off of How to Train your Dragon, the awesome Night Fury. Oli really loves this movie. I think we watched it 3 times over the last 2 weeks :)
Then there is UP. This reminded me instantly of Jack and Madi! They really love this movie, especially Kevin :)

Then there is always the little displays where you can put your head through it. Our pictures on our camera phone didn't turn out well- but this is one that worked :) Oli and I down below are being Buzz Lightyear and Jesse.
So I have to tell you something funny. Oli and I were having way too much fun with this last night. We decided to just sit there and smile through the holes all creepy, without having anyone there to take our pictures. Just us sitting there smiling at random people. This may not sound too funny (which I bet it doesn't :) but it seriously was hilarious! People would walk by and look around to see if anyone was taking our pictures, and when they noticed that no one was, they would get so uncomfortable, and we would just keep smiling at them. Oh man- we seriously are dorks- but we love it- and sometimes that's all that matters :)

Then we finished the night off by carving pumpkins. Oli carved Darth Vader (ha ha of course) and I did a simple pirate. It was a great way to end such an awesome evening!

TA-DA! All finished!

Well- how's that for a long post! Sorry- but for those who finished reading it- I hope you have a Happy Halloween this weekend! :)
