Hola! Well another week and another time to post a million pictures :) Before I start into the pictures; I just wanted to say how I love the first snowfall. It started snowing today up here in Logan, and there is just something so cozy and warm about it. Oli and I busted out the electric blanket (Thanks Cora and Ryan), the hot chocolate, and my favorite, the cuddling. :) Ah... I seriously LOVE this time of the year. I tend to catch the Holiday bug as soon as Halloween is over. Don't get me wrong- I really do love Halloween, however there is something that hits me right after it all, and off I go into the decorating and preparing for the holidays mode. It truly is one of the most wonderful times of the year!
Now back to the pictures....
Ever since Oli and I started dating, I have taken him to the Warren Miller Film for his birthday. It is a film all about skiing and snowboarding, and of course the free day pass to the Canyons. We have loved doing it- and now we can officially claim it as tradition.
And what's a film without treats?
I also got him a shirt that looks super good on him to wear to the movie :)
It was a great night and we had a lot of fun watching the film!
Then on the 29th of October, we went to Doug and Louette's and stayed the night. We loved playing with Nya and Madi all night. They have both grown up so much and it was wonderful seeing them interact together!(Jacko was staying at grandma Piercy's that night) And it's always a great time playing games with the family. I really love being over there!
Then on the 30th of October, my grandparents threw their infamous parties. My grandparents have had these parties ever since I was a wee one. These parties are always looked forward to, and they are still something that excites me as much as it did when I was younger! I truly appreciate the time and energy spent into throwing such wonderful parties. In the end it's not really the parties that matter, however it's the close bond that we have formed with our families. That's really what matters in life, and my grandparents have made that possible for us. They have set a great example, and I hope that Oli and I can follow in their footsteps.
Now, here is my crazy husband at the Halloween party. Haha, he wanted to have a costume that was "ridiculously, obviously, homemade". (His own words)
This is the result:
Yep, he was a coffin. Haha and I have a funny story to tell you. At night the older kids decided to go trick-or-treating at a few houses. (Mostly to see people's faces when Oli came in) While we were walking down the street, a little boy (who was about 3 or four years old) kept yelling "I ate you hot dog! I ate you!" Oh my heck, we could have died laughing. He thought that Oli was a hot dog. It was great.
As for my costume, I was a rockin' sumo wrestler.
My lovely grandmother
Nessa as a Beegee back up singer
Preparing for one of the games
Mother was a sexy pirate (Those are my words :)
Grandpa's scary mask
This was one of the games where we tied the balloon to our legs and tried to be the last one without having your balloon popped from someone else stepping on it. That was a great game! Zach was the winner of that one :) Oh and that's Oli in the corner :) He kept making subtle appearances in my pictures. Even looking at these pictures it just makes me laugh. It was best when he would run at you! Let's just say that it was really easy popping his balloon.
In the back is Daniel with his "groovy" costume. He had the fro, the flare out pants, the shoes- everything! He really had a great costume!
Getting ready for our next game of balancing the balloon on the platter, relay style. Can you see Sofia's costume behind Oli? That's another costume that just cracked me up. She put on one of Daniel's old costumes. She is so tiny that she fit into it, not comfortably, but she was able to get it on :)
Me pretending to be really good at it after the game was over. (I really wasn't good)
This is another one of our games. This game started out by having three people sitting on chairs. These were the people that the others had to guess who they were, while wearing a blind fold. Rochelle guided them with where they touched, and from there they had to guess who it was. We added a Halloween twist to it, that only the blind folded people did not know about. One of us would have a bowl full of jell-o. After touching our nose, lips, etc right before they were about to touch your eye you would hold up the bowl of jell-o and scream, giving the impression that they just poked your eye. Oh it was a good one. There were a lot of jumps and ripping off the blind fold to see if everything was alright. We had a lot of fun with this game :)
Here Savanah is blind folded and about to try to figure out who I am
Oli being the person with the bowl of Jell-o with little Alec. Poor Alec- haha he was one of them that jumped pretty far. :)
Sofia this time with the Jell-o while Calvin is blind folded. Look at her great acting :)
Then every year, my aunt Carey has done something spooky with witches. She always does such a good job at this! This year was great! She had a witch that could talk. She then left the room, and the witch would personally call out names while telling a story. She would also make comments directly at you. It was great for the all the kids- and they later found at that it was Carey on the microphone that's hooked up to the witch, and she would talk through it while being in the other room. What a fun, spooky thing for the kids.
Then there if always the delicious food!
Aniston is always the center of attention at our house :) It's so fun having a little one in our family!
Looove this picture! She knows how to respond to "cheese" before taking a picture. :)
Traxton and Candice came over to visit- he was a cute dragon off of the movie How to Train Your Dragon.
Then we took the little one trick-or-treating! We had such a blast, and she was very good at taking the treat and walking away. Here she is as a lion. It was cold outside so Nessa put her in this lion outfit, instead of being Pebbles. I loved this outfit, she looked like Boo off of Monsters Inc from behind!
Aniston and her buddy Traxton. (This was after trick-or-treating with her Pebbles costume)
Then we had some great dinner prepared by mother and my cousin. It was great having our cousins over from Texas. (They are currently going to school at BYU)
The big kids trick-or-treating. I can see where the "hot dog" incident came from, he does look somewhat like a hot dog. :) (Diana is now in the sumo suit- she was at State volleyball earlier in the day so it was great once she got back. She added a lot more fun to our trick-or-treating)
Halloween was fantastic! It is such a fun holiday and we loved seeing all the costumes and spending time with our families!
Then last week Oli and I played Racquetball. We first played it for our FHE activity on Monday night, and since then we became hooked. We normally play a lot of different sports, however this sport is intense and fun! So we went back on Saturday and played for three hours, and let me tell you- it's a workout! (If you play it competitively, which we did :) Whew, man we were both exhausted after playing just one game! (We played 5 on Saturday) It is such a great game- and if you are looking for a fun work-out; I would suggest racquetball!
These pictures are from our first time trying it on Monday.
The cute little door that you enter to get inside the court.
Just warming up. We didn't know at this moment how awesome this game was :)
Then these are pictures of some of the things I got Oli for his birthday. (It is a little early, (his birthday is November 17th) but I am not very good at holding things in, I get pretty excited :) He got some movies, a tire pump, a bike seat, and an Ozark Trail mattress for camping! ... Want to know something? This was all free. Yep, I was joggin around Logan, when I came upon a home that had a sign outside that said "Free, just take." So, I took :) (We also got two big luggage from this as well.)
(Do you like my sweet wrapping skills? Newspaper is a great, cheap way to wrap a gift :)
I love that smile!
Then this last Friday and Saturday we went had Little Caesars pizza, went to Cafe Ibis (becuase we heard they were having free hot cocoa- but we were too late), played racquetball, went to the temple, and relaxed. It was wonderful!
mmm-mmmm We love Little Caesars
Cafe Ibis
Then we have our food pictures. This is a meal that Oli surpised me with after I got off work. He does it quite often, and I love it. However this one really was a huge suprise. He made Indian food! My favorite! I just thought that it was so hard to make, so I have never tried making it. Oli however was able to pull it off. And it was incredibly good! Tasted just like Tandoori :)
It also looked like Tandoori!
Then we made cornbread and drizzled, well covered it in honey butter :)
Have a fantastic Monday!
