Last Week's Happenings

Sewing
Did I trick you in looking like a professional seamstress in the picture below? If not, that it is OK- I am still working on the professional part :)
I was really just having to concentrate as I was trying to sew a straight line!

This is a hobby that I am enjoying learning about. (To give my beautiful mother credit- she did teach me when I was younger how to sew pillows and such, however I didn't keep up with it, and now I am having to re-learn all that there is to learn about sewing. Which is a lot :)
It has stretched me to think outside the box and to reach outside of my comfort zone. (Sewing always seemed a little intimidating to me before.)
There has been a few bumps throughout this learning curve, although the end result makes it worth it! :)

I have now made a skirt, fixed/redesigned some of our shirts, and I just recently made a boho-chic dress.  My next sewing project will be to make a baby car seat cover for my sister's new baby girl coming in October! I am very excited -not just to design the car seat cover- but for the baby of course!

Aunt Corie was so kind to have given me her sewing machine and since then, my head has been spinning with ideas!
Creating new things is such a exhilarating feeling!

p.s. There is a large blanket behind me hanging up. This is not a new decorating fad, this is simply something to cover our large windows up with. Our curtains are a bit see-through at night, and so we put up the blanket to derail from having any window peepers. :) See, another sewing project! There are so many projects I would love to undertake! :)

Viola! Pizza!
This was an awesome pizza we had last week that Ol's surprised me with one night. He makes the most delicious homemade pizzas!

Kateri and Mitch's Wedding
August 6, 2011
Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful are the three words I would use to describe
Katie and Mitch's wedding day :)
What else would you expect from such a beautiful couple?
Just take a look and see for yourselves!

Mr. and Mrs. Carter making their first debut as a married couple.
Her dress was fantastic and I thought that Mitch's suit colors worked wonderfully together.
I love this picture below. Katie and her dad sharing a special moment.
It was very special to attend Katie and Mitch's temple sealing. There was a strong spirit in the room and the Sealer gave some beautiful insights to the newly-wedded couple.
I could not be happier for these two. Marriage is such an incredible blessing, and it is a special feeling to observe your friends enter into such a covenant.

After Katie and Mitch's Wedding; Jenn, Carter, Oli and I went to JCW's in Lehi after hearing such rave reviews of this burger joint from both Carter and Jenn.
It definitely did not disappoint!
Their shakes were delicious and their guacamole burgers were divine.
We will be back JCW's!

Living Planet Aquarium
Then we wobbled our full selves over to the Living Planet Aquarium as we enjoyed taking in the wonders of the sea!
It was wonderful to be able to spend a day with Jenn and Carter. It has been a long time since we have been with them, however it seems that you just pick up exactly where you left off.
That is the beauty of such treasured friendships.
Thanks Jenn and Carter for such a fun time! We always look forward to seeing you guys!

Here were some of the fun sea creatures we were able to see.

A puffer fish!
This is what we got him to do! Haha just kidding,  however we were hoping we could scare him into "puffing" up like the picture below!
Jelly Fish are incredible to watch.
It was fun to see such different Jelly Fish and how mystical these sea creatures really are.
Octopus
Down below is a GIANT lobster! He was absolutely huge! We couldn't get over his massive size, how good he would taste, and how much he would cost. Poor lobster :)
Petting the Sting Rays
There were obviously many more animals at the aquarium, however I didn't get any pictures of them.
My favorite animals at the aquarium were the penguins (oh I love penguins!), a sea turtle, and the miniature sea horses.
If you haven't gone to the Living Planet Aquarium yet; I would definitely recommend it.  (Especially if you have little ones- they would love it!)

Williams Baby Blessing
Then on Sunday, August 7, 2011, William Isaac Geary was blessed.
Isaac did a wonderful job with blessing their baby boy.
It was a very special day, however I unfortunately didn't get any pictures. (I was a bit under the weather.) William however looked so handsome in his little blessing outfit and we couldn't be happier for Ike and Jess!

That is the Geary happenings for last week!
I hope you have a fabulous Wednesday!
