Monday Thoughts and an Update

Today was an absolute beautiful day. I really do love fall season. The leaves are changing, the air is a little bit more crisp, General Conference is coming up, and I am admiring the fashion of cute sweaters and boots. Ah..fall is such a great season. The older I get, the more I love it.
While I was out on the Quad waiting for my other class, I couldn't help but think how good life is. Yes, there are always the hard times. There will always be hard times, however, in the end that really is what makes it wonderful. I couldn't help but also think of how busy we get in our day to day adventures. It's go-go from one spot to the other, and as fast as we can do it. (Well, that's how it is for me:) I really enjoyed as a sat on the Quad just watching people hurriedly going to their next destination. I couldn't help but remind myself as I was observing, how I really need to be better. Better at being a friend, helping a neighbor, saying "Hi" to someone, telling the ones I am close to that I love them. Isn't that really what makes life worth it? It's seeing the smiles, the tears, the pain, the joy. It's forgetting about yourself. Sometimes I forget that. I get so caught up in our life, that I might be missing on other opportunities to help another person out. Here's to starting a new leaf this week :)

Also, I always have to have an update. Here is a little update on what Oli and I have been up to this last week:

  • I was FINALLY able to pass the test that I needed to get to be able to apply for the Elementary Education program! Who says that the fourth time isn't the charm :) (I promise it was a really hard test :)This leaves me with now applying for the program (the ELED program is a little crazy up here in USU) and then having 3 semesters left until I finish and can be a teacher! Yahoo!

  • Oli and I have been playing intramural volleyball with the Morrill's every Thursday night. It's been a blast playing volleyball with Oli and the rest of the team. We are 0-2... but that's ok , we still love it :)

  • We went and saw the fam this last weekend! We stayed Friday night at Doug and Louette's and got to hear of their awesome vacation to Cancun! We were also finally able to play with the wee ones. Nya and Jack have both grown up so much and are getting cuter every time we see them. It was also really good to see Cori- she is always so much fun! I just love them. We missed Madi, so we will hopefully be planning a trip up to Lehi soon!

  • Then on Saturday, my parents and siblings all gathered together and headed to Salt Lake to enjoy the General Relief Society Conference. It was so refreshing to hear from our amazing leaders. President Monson just cracked me up. I am so happy to have such a great prophet. While the women enjoyed the conference, the men (and Diana, because she is not quite yet 18) went and saw the Joseph Smith movie and walked around the temple. After that, we all went and ate-out and enjoyed ourselves.

  • Then on Sunday, we celebrated Daniel and Mom's birthday. They are both so awesome, and I truly am grateful for all my mother does for us. She is incredibly beautiful, talented, smart, and a really hard worker. She is my best friend and I love her to death. She deserves to be celebrated! We then partook of some awesome Portuguese dinner, and listened to my parents adventures from their trip in Portugal. I got to play with Aniston, which is always so much fun. She has such a funny personality and is growing by the second. I just love being an aunt to such great little ones.

  • Oli and I are trying to make a fall wreath, we will see how it all turns out :)

  • Oli's setting up a 5K here in Logan for the whole city to come and participate in. All the money that is made will be given to a fund that the Logan Hospital has for those people who are not able to afford surgery or the necessities needed after surgery. He is such a hard worker and I am always in awe of the projects he undertakes. I will post more details of where, how much it will cost, and when this race will be... so for those of you who like to run, come out and support a good cause. :)
Then tonight, we are headed out to Old Main Hill to listen to some great music (Kalai is performing) and eat some awesome Texas Roadhouse sandwiches.

Happy Monday everyone!
