Two weeks ago our family packed up all the snacks, towels, and water toys we could and headed off to enjoy the ICE cold mountain water up in the Uintas at a place called the Flat Rocks! We had such a blast! It was pretty intimidating to jump in the first time, however after our initial "numbing" stage- we were able to swim just fine! :) Oh it was such a great time! There's nothing like swimming up in the mountains!
Finding our sweet spot...
Then into the water we went!
Awww... basking in the sun
Then on July 6th it was my Grandpa Stephens' birthday! Happy Birthday to you Grandpa, you are the best! Dad and Mom wanted to celebrate his birthday by throwing a barbecue party with all of the family. It was delicious and a loads of fun!
Haha I loved the cake! Grandpa is always the life of the party!
Then about a week ago, the Geary family had their family vacation! It was such a fun time! Doug and Louette gave each couple money and with that money we chose a day and the activities we would like to do with the family. It was great to see the creativity and the different ideas that everyone chose for their day!
Monday was Dantzel and Greg's day. They planned a wonderful day up in the Uintas complete with dutch oven food, kayaking, canoeing, games, and some fishing!
I had to take a picture of Jacko with his life jacket :)
Tuesday was Doug and Louette's day. We went to Boondocks and had a great time (especially trying to beat Ryan on the go-carts) and just being able to be kids and play all of the games that there is to offer. That night after Boondocks we had a picnic in the park and then went and watched Toy Story 3 at the drive-in!
On Wednesday it was Cora and Ryan's day. We were able to relax, paint our toenails, play games, eat, and take our family pictures! It was a wonderful time!
Game of Horse Shoes
Our cute toenails!
On Thursday it was Ike and Jess's day. We went floating down the river (we all ended up being a bit numb from how cold it was :), went clay pigeon shooting, and had a wonderful BBQ!
My sweet gear before we went shooting :)
The girls rocked it :)
Louette shot a clay pigeon her first shot! haha it was awesome!
Then on Friday it was Oli and I's day. We went to Bear Lake and had a "Geary Open". I looove Bear Lake! The weather couldn't have cooperated any better than it did, and it was great to play games and enjoy the warm water!
Water balloon volleyball
Playing Catch Phrase
Then it came time for the three-legged relay race. We split up into two teams and had two pit stops that you had to complete before switching off to another person. One stop was shaving a balloon and the other stop was eating a Hostess pie with your hands behind your back. Haha it was so fun watching everyone... especially the pie eating contest.
Here is Greg diggin' in :) Go Greg!
Waiting to shave my balloon as soon as my teamate was done eating their pie
The family with our medals!
Then Jay had Saturday. He took us to the Market Street Grill, which is incredibly good! The food was delicious and it was a great way to end our festivities!
Oli and I's awesome chocolate cake!
Then my beautiful sister Diana came and stayed with Oli and I this last weekend. We love having her visit! We had a great time spending time together and enjoying the 24th!
Then we went and spent the 24th going to all the different booths at Willow Park, going to the zoo, watching the parade, and then enjoying the great fireworks at night!
We went on this spinning wheel thing at the park's playground- and let's just say that it was unbelievably fast! It was one of those things where you can't lift your head or anything because you are going so fast! We looved it... and of course had a little too much fun with it :)
This is Oli and Ike playing on it- they tried to trade spots but in the end it was to fast for them to get to the other side :)
Climbing trees
Oli and I participated in the banana eating contest, however we did not win. This man downed his banana in what seemed like 4 seconds!
Played with the experiments at the booths
And watched the parade!
Our summer has been absolutely wonderful! It's been full of laughs, adventures, family, food, late nights, and great weather!
I hope everyone is able to enjoy their summer!
