Oli one day was antsy as he explained that we were going somewhere and that he wouldn't tell me where. I, of course couldn't help myself. I am a sucker for surprises. We pack up into the car and drive out to Providence. We stop at this beautiful home and I quizzically look over at Oli, wondering what we were doing here. He just simply smiles, and we go and knock on the door. A friendly woman answers the door and invites us into her home. I embarrassingly admit that I have no idea what I am doing here, until I look outside the door. In the back yard was this beautiful Newfie.
Now, for background information: While in Portugal, we saw two of the most beautiful, large dogs that we had ever seen. Neither Oli or I have ever seen them in the States, and we were just so impressed by their gentleness and size that we were hooked instantly. Ever since we have seen them in Portugal, we have been looking them up on the internet and researching more about them. Well, while Oli was looking on KSL one day, he came across some Newfies for sale. Now... another thing about Newfies. They are expensive! They are about $1,500 depending on the seller. But because of the rarity of seeing a Newfie, especially right her in Cache county; he called the woman and simply explained that we wouldn't be able to buy one right now, however we would love to come over and look at them and simply play with them. She was very nice and allowed that to happen.
Back to the story, I am in love with these dogs. Having Oli do this for me was so special. It meant so much to me. Little things like this make life so much better!
Here are the little... soon to be huge guys!
And this is what they will look like in a little while:
A new little one:
There is NOTHING that beats holding a new little one as they are just entering into the world. The Spirit is strong and the love is felt by all. The environment is that of happiness and excitement as we discuss who the baby looks like and what their temperament will be as they grow up. I also couldn't help but be so impressed/astonished as I watched my sister as she held her two little girls in her arms. She is such a good mother and I just couldn't believe that they are now a family of four. Time just flies by, and I seriously couldn't be happier for Zach and Ness. Welcome little Alayna, we are so happy you are here.
Highlights:
-New baby smell. Seriously, it is the best.
