Oh hello! It has been quite a while since we have posted any of our happenings! I will try and catch up on all of our latest happenings! (I still need to catch up on posting about our trip to MEXICO- however I will have to do that in a post all by itself :)
Well both Oli and I are very involved with our schooling and it has been very rewarding! Oli is doing really well in his classes, and as of this past week, we just realized that he only has six classes left! Six classes- 18 credits- and he will be G-R-A-D-U-A-T-E-D! That is only one semester! I couldn't be more proud of him. He puts so much hard work and dedication into his schooling, and it truly is paying off. He is really loving his job up at the University, and he is looking as good as ever! (Just in case you wanted that re-cap! haha) I am almost at the end of my practicum for Level II and I have loved it! (Right now my Elementary School is on Spring Break, so I had a little bit of time to get this post in :) It has definitely been hard work, however I couldn't be more happy than to be having the hands-on experiences I am having in the classroom and forming the great relationships I have with my students. They are 1st graders and they make me smile everyday. Who wouldn't love constant hugs and "I love you's" from little children? I really love teaching; it is exactly the major for me! (Only one more semester of school, then I student teach for a semester, and then I am graduated and officially a teacher! Hooray!) Our jobs have been wonderful working with our busy schedules, and we truly couldn't be more grateful for such a wonderful thing. We have been reminded that with both of us being so busy, it just makes it that much more important that we make the most of our days!!
Now we are both coming up at the end of the semester (Only three more weeks) and we are starting to create our summer bucket list and our adventures we would like to go on!
Recently, we were very blessed to listen to General Conference! I love the fact that we have a living day Prophet and Apostles who lead and guide our Church today. I was edified, uplifted, and inspired to be better. I was left feeling extremely happy and blessed for the life that we live and are able to live. General Conference is such an amazing thing!
Well, without further ado, here are some of the happenings we have had in the past couple of months in picture form :)

Well, without further ado, here are some of the happenings we have had in the past couple of months in picture form :)
Racquetball. We absolutely love it! I am always left feeling more soar than expected, and with a huge grin on my face from such a fun time! One of my favorite times playing racquetball was when my sister Sofia came up about three weeks ago and we went on a double-date and played "fours" in racquetball. Even though Oli and I lost BIG time, we had a blast! :)
This was one of the times we were going to play, and we "dressed" up a little more for the occasion. :)

Black vs. White. Racquetball is a big deal in our home :)
This was a girl's day out. My mother, all of us girls, my aunt Rochelle and cousin Arielle came to go prom dress shopping for my younger sister Diana. We had a fabulous time! It was so fun to bond together, observe many beautiful dresses, and of course partake of delicious food!
Mom and Sofia are enjoying the massage that was offered at the "Prom Dress Show".
The girls looking at what there was to offer...
Oh my cute little one! She loved being one of the girls :)
Cute Arielle getting her hair done.
We had a blast enjoying all that there was to offer at the show!
These are some pictures from little Nya's first birthday! I still can not believe that she is one! She is so dang cute and we are so proud to be her aunt and uncle! Her birthday was a Dora themed party, and Dantzel and Louette did a fabulous job of decorating it!
She was so cute with her bike that Madi gave her for her birthday :)
Oh I love my nieces and nephews! I am the proudest aunt! :)
This was just a random time where we were at my parents home. This was my mom and Oli cooking a delicious meal. It is so fun seeing my mom interact with both Zach and Oli the way that she does.Whether it be discussing politics, sports, playing games, or simply cooking- I love watching it:)
This is a picture of pretzels. Haha we love our food and this was one night that we wanted something to snack on, and hence the pretzels. We were pretty proud of ourselves :)
Oli has been actively involved with the business school's virtual stock competition. This is the day that he signed up for it, and I had to take a picture of him being first out of the business school, whether or not it was because they all just signed up :)
Oh Oli and his unicycle that he rented :) This was during the week of Spring Break, and he loved riding it whenever he could. I would be his person to lean on while he was first learning how to ride it. We were quite the sight out in the parking lot as I was trying to steady myself while Oli was holding onto my shoulder and trying to stay on his unicycle. :) However by the time Spring Break was over, he was able to ride by himself and go a pretty far distance!
Yes, he would even practice in our little home :)
Then around the first of March, it was my beautiful sister's prom. She looked stunning! There were times when I had to shake myself from being at awe of how my youngest sister is already at the age of going to prom! It is so fun having all of us girls be at the age where we are best friends. I love them, and I am so lucky to be their sister.
Here she is getting dolled up. Vanessa and my mother have always been our go-to for getting us girls ready for any of our big occasions. From weddings to proms, it is wonderful to be able to have make-up artists right in our own home! :)
Nessa doing what she does best
Putting on the last finishing touches...
My little one loved watching her aunt getting ready!
I found this absolutely adorable. This was her after Diana was done getting her make-up on. It was just her and I, and she kept wanting to get up on the bathroom counter. Once I had her up there, she grabbed her "pretties", and started applying her imaginary make-up like she had seen her aunt Diana do so before.
Then she took her "pretties" and went and sat on Grandpa's lap.
And of course Grandpa spoiled her :) What a great grandpa! Haha I love this picture!
Nana putting on the finishing touches. Some of my most fond memories are when all of us girls scurry around and try to get everything ready for whatever sister's prom is at the time. I love it.
This is one of my favorite pictures of her getting ready!
Then TA-DA!! She looked so so gorgeous!!
We have had a tradition where our family takes pictures of the sister/daughter/granddaughter as she comes slowly down the stairs. She wasn't too excited to do this, however, we have all done it so we had to keep the tradition alive. :)
Diana and her date. His name has slipped from my memory, however I do remember that he is Australian. I guess that shows what I found most interesting at the time :)
Then after Diana left with her date, we all went and relaxed before the big evening. This is Oli and the little one helping him move his unicycle :)
Then here is the big prom night! Because we are from such a small school, it is a huge celebration. The parents, friends, and other family are all able to come watch. This is a weird concept to some, however, to us, it was an anticipated event to show off your dress to those you cared about.
Here Diana is dancing with Dad.
It was such a wonderful evening and I can not say enough how beautiful she looked! :)
Then during our Spring Break, we took a day and went snowboarding up at The Canyons in Park City! It was a beautiful day, and I loove spending time with my husband up in the mountains, "boarding" it up.:)We tried many new trails, and I even went down what Oli said would be a black diamond trail. Oli was proud haha. He of course did many tricks up at the snowboard park, and was my wonderful tour guide and showed me all of the awesome trails. He really is great at snowboarding :)
It was like Christmas morning for Oli the day we were leaving. This is what he prepared in the morning, an extra two hours before we needed to leave at 8:30 a.m. :)
And this is us after... we absolutely loved it. We couldn't help it but spend the entire day there!
... what a stud!
This is him telling me a story about a jump he did. That is a face of pure happiness :)
My sweet Rosignol Board. I love that board!
What a great adventure!
On another day during our Spring Break, we went to a Thai food place called Kamin. It was a cozy, quaint restaurant, and the food was delicious!
Thai food is now up there with our love for Indian Food.
Then about a week or two ago, we seized the Spring weather and rode our bikes down to First Dam. It was a wonderful time to just talk, relax, and enjoy the sun.
Oh yes, I am now brunette. I was in need of a change, and Oli really liked it when I had my dark hair for a little bit during our dating stage. Well I took the plunge, and I love it. It sufficed my want for a change, plus my Oli really loves it, which makes it a win-win :)
Oli is trying to sneak up on the geese. It didn't work out too well :)
We relaxed :)
And played... |
We were even able to see our Sunday school class that we had in our last ward. We love those kids and it was great to get to talk to them!
Then we went and played in a couple of stores :)
Then about a week ago, we went and ate at the Pita Pit and listened to Allred. We both think he is a fabulous guitarist, and we were glad to hear his two songs that he played :)
This was last weekend where we went rollerblading, played volleyball, swung on swings, and just enjoyed being outside!
Then it was April Fools! Last year we had some pretty good pranks, however this year I was actually able to get Oli without him figuring it out in two seconds! I did the pregnancy joke, (not exactly on April Fools day )however this time it actually worked- and I had to tell him just kidding because he was getting excited. I ended up feeling bad for that one because he normally doesn't believe me, but this time he did. I felt pretty cruel, and could not follow it with the saying, "April Fools". :) However on the day of April Fools, I made him pancakes. He loves his pancakes, so I thought this would be a good ploy. One of the things he really hates is cotton. He just can not stand the texture of it. Well, with this in mind, I went to making his pancakes while he was gone at work. Once he got back, there was warm pancakes with juice, and he was a happy man. However, he had no idea that there were pieces of paper and cotton swabs inserted in the pancake. And there I sat, watching my cute husband devouring his pancakes as I kept thinking, "Wait, has he already eaten the cotton swabs?" Yes, at that moment I was feeling bad, however, slightly proud that this is one prank he has not caught me on so quickly. :)
Well, don't worry. He went for another bite, and lo and behold, there was a cotton swab right on his fork. He couldn't believe that I had done such a thing! He even complimented me on such a great trick. I was pretty proud. He was then able to just look at my juice and recognize that it was just water with food coloring. Haha but I did get him on one trick! It took him a little bit to like pancakes again, however he is now back to liking them :)
Here he is, pretending to be mad at me.
But don't worry, he still loves me :) |
And here is the culprit! You can actually see the cotton swabs and pieces of paper :) |
Pictured up above is Oli driving on our way to go see Tangled. I LOVED that film! It was a great movie and I even teared up toward the end. It had both Oli and I laughing so hard. It was wonderful to see such a good Disney film again! Then after Tangled, we went and had delicious ice cream at Subzero!
Then last Saturday and Sunday, we were blessed to hear General Conference. I honestly can not say enough how much I love it! It makes me so happy and it is reminder of how much these men sacrifice for our Church. One of my favorite talks was Elder Richard G. Scott when he was discussing his love for his wife. It was beautiful, and I couldn't help but tear up at such an amazing love. Another one of my favorites talks (they were all incredible) was Elder Quentin L. Cook. He spoke of the role of women, and how important our role is in God's plan! It was such an inspiring talk and reminded me once again of my role as a woman here on this earth. If you would like to see or read any of the talks of this Spring's General Conference, you can click here. During the two hour break on Saturday's General Conference, Oli and I went and got some chicken tenders at Burger King, and then gelata at Zeppe's! They were both so delicious! :) (Most all of these purchases that I have mentioned in the blog were all FREE! We have been couponing and have found incredible deals. I am a firm believer of coupons! :) |
Well that is what the Geary's have been up to for the past little bit! :)
I hope you have a happy Thursday!
i love your brown hair!! so cute!
